CANCELLED BOOKINGS
Springboks’ ‘Poor Showing’ t.V.Z. Press Association! NELSON, May 28. A party of South African Rugby supporters who planned to follow the Springbok tour of New Zealand, has cancelled arrangements because of the poor showing of their team in Ireland and Scotland recently. Mr T. G. Newman, the Nelson manager of Newman Bros. Ltd., confirmed today that three buses had been reserved to take 98 South African supporters on the South Island section of their tour between Picton and Christchurch. He had now received advice from Auckland on behalf of the South African travel agents that the arrangements have had to be cancelled because so many of the supporters have withdrawn from the tour “due to the poor showing of their team in Ireland and Scotland,” said Mr Newman.
