Painting To Start Soon
Repainting of the North New Brighton War Memorial Community Centre is expected to start soon, the president (Mr F. A. Perham) told the centre’s annual meeting Mr Perham said that the paint required would be supplied free by the Christchurch City Council, and council labour wouM be used to paint woodwork outside the hall, and half of the interior, voluntary labour completing the job. It was hoped that work would start within the next few weeks. In his annual report, Mr Perham said the plans for the future were to keep improving the centre. Officers elected were: president, Mr Perham; vicepresident. Mrs I. Wood: secretary, Mrs F. A.. Perham; treasurer, Mr K. Bishop; committee. Messrs p. Greenhalgh. K. Maynard, H. Warden. R. Lilley, Mesdames E. Costello, V. Newell, E. Bishop; auditor, Mr F. Price.
