(N Z Press Association) WELLINGTON, May 27 Within minutes of the announcement that New Zealand was to send a combat unit to Vietnam, a petition was presented to the House of Representatives calling on New Zealand to concentrate its “entire efforts” on find ing a peaceful solution to the conflicts in Vietnam. The petition was presented by Mr N. J. King (Opp.. Waitemata) on behalf of Michael Edward Rainton Bassett, of Auckland, and 17 others, rep resenting the Auckland branch and Birkdale branch of the Camoaign for Nuclear Disarmament.
