Founders Hear Maori Party
A programme of orations, action songs and poi dances were presented by Te Otinga Rangatiri Brennan and his Maori Concert Party, at a recent meeting of the Canterbury branch of the New Zealand Founders’ Society. The president of the brahch (Mr L. Prendeville) introduced Mr Brennan, who is a direct descendant of the Maori chief, Te Kooti. Mr Brennan gave a commentary on the meaning underlying items on the programme. Mr A. H. Oakes thanked him and his party tot their demonstration of Maori culture.
