PUBLIC NOTICES WAJMAIBI COUNTY COUNCIL NOTICE OF INTENTION TO MAKE AND LEVY RATES PURSUANT to the provisions of the ‘•Rating Act, 1925” and the “Counties Act, 1959," and subsequent amendments (Public Notice !« Hereby Given that the Waimairi County Council has prepared and approved the following estimates of income and expenditure for the period commenced the first day of April, 1965, and ending on 'he Thirtyfirst day of March, 1966. Income < (a) Motor Drivers' Licence Fees, Budding and other Miscellaneous Licences and Fees. 13,250 (b) Commission, Rents, etc 33,302 (c) National Roads Board Subsid es and Grants 58,208 (d) Outstanding Rates, etc. 33,973 Amount required from General Bates 186.361 £330,094 Expenditure £ (a) Administration Salaries, printing and stationery, postages, telephones and general office expenses 64,357 (b) Items of a general nature including maintenance o f buildings, reserves, refuse pits, elections, etc 38,478 (c) Contributions to Christchurch Metropolitan Fire Board, Canterbury Museum, Regional Planning Authority and Riccarton Bush 36,583 (d) Separate Accounts'— Street Lighting .... 15,594 (e) County Works Including maintenance and construction of roads, footpaths, channels, dust and refuse collection and works loans charges 169,658 (f) Transfers to—Bridge, Buildings and Plantations Renewal Accounts 5,424 £330,094 It is Hereby Further Publicly Notified that it is the intention of the Waimairi County Coun•11 at an Ordinary Meeting of the Waimairi County Council to be held at 7.30 p.m. on Monday, the twenty-first day of June, 1965, in the Council Chamber, Cnr. Clyde and Jeffreys roads, Fendalton, to Make and Levy the undermentioned Rates upon the Rateable Value of all Raetable Properties appearing in the Valuation Rolls now in force in the County of Waimairi for the period commenced the first day of Abril, 1965, and ending on the thirtyfirst day of March, 1966. 1. General Consolidated Rates on the rateable capital value of all rateable in the several Ridings of the County as follows: Styx Riding 1.09192 d in the £ Marshland Riding ... .86153 d in the £ Belfast Riding ... ,91998 d in the £ Harewood Riding ... ,85925 d in the £ Papanui Riding ... ,92455 d in the £ Walrarapa RidingB272ld in the £ Avonhead Riding ... .83144 d in the £ Fendalton Biding ... ,77987 d in the £ Middleton Riding ... ,78631 d in the £ The above Rates will be made under the provisions of Sections 107 and 130 of “The Counties Act, 1956" and "The Rating Act, 1925."

Water Rates and Charges under the provisions of Sections 118, 119 and 120 of “The Counties Act, 1956” and “The Rating Act, 1925” as follows: (a) On all lands and dwellinghouses to which water is supplied from the Council’s water supply system a Rate of ,2976 d (pence) in the £ (pound) on the basis of capita' value, provided that if that rate would produce les than one pound (£1) in respect of any such land or dwelMnghouse. a Rate of not more than one pound (£1) may be made and levied. (b) On all lands and dwelllnghouses to which water can be but is not supplied. situated within one one hundred yards from any part of the Council’s water supply system, a Rate not exceeding half of the rates mentioned in paragraph (a) above. (c) On all lands and dweli'inghouses situated within one hundred yards of any water main supplied with water from Christchurch City Council water mains, the same rates as would be levied by the Christchurch City Council if such land or dwelMnghouse was in the City being a rate of ,3600 d (pence) in the £ (pound) on the basis of capital value for a connected property and ,1800 d (pence) in the £ (pound) for an unconnected property. (d) On all lands and dwelMnghouses situated within one hundred yards of any part of the Council’s water supply system in Philpotts road, a rate of four pounds (£4) for properties connected to the supply, and two pounds (£2) for properties not connected. (e) Extraordinary Supply per meter. Residential, commercial, industrial, etc., one shilling (Is) per thousand gallons for properties connected to the Council's water supply system and one sihllltag and three pence (Is 3d) per thousand gallons for properties supplied from the Christchurch City Council’s water supply system. Public Hospitals and educational institutions nine pence per thousand gallons. 3. It is hereby Further Publicly Notified that it is the intention of the Waimairi County Council at an Ordinary Meeting to be held at 7.30 p.m. on Monday, the twenty-first day of June, 1965, in the Council Chamber, cnr. Clyde and Jeffreys roads, Fendalton: To Make And Levy A Uniform Annual Fee of three pounds and sixteen shillings (£3 16s Od) on each property which is provided with a sanitation service. The said . Annual Fee will be made under the provisions of Section 115 of “The Counties Act, 1956” and be levied for the period commenced on the first day of April, 1965. and ending on the thiry-first dav of March. 1966,

4. Other Authorities Rates. The Council will collect such rates as are made by Special Order by the following local authorities— Christchurch Drainage Board: Christchurch Transport Board; North Canterbury Catchment Board It Is Hereby Further PubMcly Notified that the whole of the beforementioned Rates, Charges and the Uniform Annual Fee will be payable at the Office of the Waimatri County Council, cnr. Clyde and Jeffreys roads, Fendalton, in one sum, on the second day of August, 1965. and be subject to a penalty of ten per cent (10%) additional if not paid within six months and fourteen days from date of demand thereof. The Valuation Rolls and the Rate Books containing particulars of all the above Rates and the Uniform Annaul Fee are open for Inspection without fee by all ratepayers during office hours which are from 9 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. Monday to Fnday.
