CONVENTION IN CHRISTCHURCH

Fellowship
Fifty women members of the Associated Church of New Zealand are living at Tyndale House this week during a convention of the Christian Women’s Fellowship. The leader of the convention. which lasts three days and a half, is the Dominion president. Miss V. Millar. of Auckland. Observers from the national and local women's committees of the National Council of Churches are attending some day sessions.
The theme of the convention, “The Promises of God,” forms the basis for study sessions being led by Miss Millar, Mrs M. Strachan, of Wanganui, Mrs B. Hollier, of ■Waihou, and Mrs B. Bull, of I Christchurch.
Evening sessions, dealing with the wider work of the ! Christian church, are initiated by three missionaries. They are Dr. S. M. Sewell, who has been a missionary in Thailand for 10 years, Mrs B. Adcock. who is on furlough from Southern Rhodesia, and Miss H. Middletniss, who is on I leave from New Hebrides.
' The convention, an annual event, is held alternately in ithe North and South Islands.
