Three Injured On Roads
Mrs S. W. Barkle, aged 58. of 54 Severn street, suffered head, neck, and chest injuries and a broken leg when two cars collided at the corner of Salisbury and Durham streets about 1.20 p.m. yesterday.
Mrs Barkle was admitted to the Christchurch Hospital, where her condition last evening was reported to be fairly satisfactory.
Mrs Barkle’s car rolled over and hit the front of a shop. Two men in the other car were not injured. Michael Halliday, aged three, suffered head and arm injuries when he fell from a car at the corner of Lake Terrace road and Carlsen street about 12.40 p.m. He was admitted to the Christchurch Hospital. His condition last evening was reported to be satisfactory. The rider of a motor-cycle. Brian Bennett, of 17 Mountbatten street, suffered abrasions in a collision with a car at the corner of Barbadoes and Coventry streets about 9 a.m. He was treated at the Christchurch Hospital and discharged.
