Penalties To Be Tougher
(N.Z. Press Association)
AUCKLAND, May 27.
The Auckland Rugby Union intends to toughen up the penalties for players ordered off. Last Saturday, seven players were ordered from the field for intentionally kicking or punching an opposing player, or wilfully tripping. They have been stood down for one playing Saturday. The union’s management committee decided last night to support a recommendation from the judicial committee that in future players ordered off should be penalised more severely.
