CAR THEFT CHARGE
Man And Girl Appear

AUCKLAND, May 27
A man and a 19-year-old girl were today charged jointly with stealing a £6OO car on May 14 and wilfully damaging it with explosives at Western Springs on Tuesday evening. Jonassen Sadaraka, aged 22, a carpenter, and Lois Anne de Grut, aged 19, a factory hand, appeared before Mr W. J. Meade, S.M., in the Auckland Magistrate’s Court. They were remanded for a week. Bail was refused.
De Grut was also charged with unlawfully getting into the vehicle on Maj 7 21, and Sadaraka with the forgery of a £l5 cheque on May 20 and with false pretences involving a valueless cheque.
Sadaraka elected trial by jury on all charges. De Grut made no election.
Mr K. Ryan appeared for both accused.
