WHEN A STARTER IS NOT A STARTER
Mr R. A. Paterson, of Mosgiel, the official starter for the Kurow Trotting Club, will stand down during the running of the Kurow Cup on Saturday. The race will be started by his assistant, Mr J. Jackson, as Mr Paterson will be repre-
sented in the race by the early favourite, Sheridan.
Both Mr Paterson and Mr
Jackson have been officials of the club since its first race meeting in 1955. Mr Paterson wished to retire last year but he was persuaded to officiate for the club’s first totalisator meeting.
Sheridan, which is owned and trained by Mr Paterson,
has won his last two races.
