Air Ambulance From U.S.
A twin-engined Piper Aztec aircraft being flown from the United States for the Wellington Aero Club is expected to arrive at Christchurch airport tomorrow.
A ferry pilot will fly the aircraft direct to Christchurch from Honolulu, a distance of 1625 miles. Its longest hop on the flight so far was between San Francisco and Honolulu—2soo miles. The six-seater aircraft is to be modified in Christchurch by Airwork (N.Z.), Ltd., for use in Wellington as an air ambulance. The work is expected to take between two and three weeks.
