Graftiig Tests Successful (N.Z. Press ,9>n.—Copyright) MELBOURNE, May 24. Australian ;urgeons have used calf bom in more than 150 bone grits on human patients in reent months. About 85 yr cent of the grafts were successful—the same percentge which could be expected ibone from the patients’ own odies had been used.
These figure were revealed by Dr. Jame A. Dingwall, who led the six-man team which developd the calf-bone technique aftr nearly nine years of expeiments and research at th Squibb Institute for Medial Research in New Jersey, fcited States.
The anatom department at Monash Univrsity is conducting further Judies of the new techniqtt Calf bone hd been selected for surgical ue because of its similarity i strength to human bone, said Dingwall.
