PURSUANT to the provisions of the Local Authorities Loans Act, 1956, and amendments thereto, public notice is hereby given that at a meeting, held in the City Council Chambers, 194 Manchester street, Christchurch, at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 19, 1965, it was resolved to raise a loan of FiftyTwo Thousand, Three Hundred Pounds (£52,300) to be known as the Renewal Loan. 1965, for the purpose of repaying on maturity, portions of the Streets Improvements Loan, 1957, £240,000, the Reading Loan, 1955, £500,000, and the Aerodrome Development Loan, 1957, £400.000. It was further resolved that for the purpose of providing principal, interest and other charges on such loan, the Council would make and levy a special rate of Nine Hundred and Nine-Twenty-flve Thousandths of a Penny (909/25.000d) in the Pound (£.0001515) on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property comprised within the City of Christchurch; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate payable on demand during the currency of the said loan.
