Canberra Man Faces Charges

A Canberra electrician today became the first man in Australia to be charged with illegal telephone tapping. The man, Neil Hanley, of Yarralumla, a Canberra suburb, faced three charges in the Canberra Court of Petty Sessions.
He was charged with having intercepted a telephone call on May 13; having, on May 14, passed on information obtained by intercepting a telephone call; and having resisted a Commonwealth police officer.
