A total of 300,763,000 gallons of water was pumped at the Heathcote station during the year ended March 31, the Lyttelton Borough Council was advised pn Monday evening.
Progress had been made in negotiations with the Lyttelton Harbour Board concerning the water supply to new harbour works. Both the board and the council would bear part of the cost of the reticulation.
Improvements to West Lyttelton, Diamond Harbour and Cass Bay would come after a £27,000 development loan was raised. The improvements would include a new reservoir in West Lyttelton. . Building permit values from January to April were £33,323 10s, the council was advised.
