HELP FOR FAMILY
Home Lost In Fire f'N.Z. Press Association) HAMILTON, May 6. Ngahinapouri and Rukuhia people are rallying to help Mr and Mrs Keith Ryburn and their five young sons whose Station road home at Rukuhia, near Hamilton, was burnt early on Tuesday morning.
A handful of clothes, a washing machine and a dryer were the only possessions the family saved from the fire. Now they have a fully furnished rent-free house only four miles from their farm, a good selection of clothes and a large store of food—all given by neighbours.
“It’s overwhelmed us,” Mr Ryburn said today. “I didn’t realise there was so many friends.”
Still shocked by the disaster, Mr Ryburn said he had not “had time to think of the future.” The former homstead was built by his parents at the turn of the century.
