ALTITUDE PROBLEMS.—R. B. Hamilton (Auckland), the New Zealand half-mile champion, had his first experiences of high altitude running when he recently visited South Africa with N. 1. Scott. His successes on the tour were not great but his second placing in the South African 880yd championship in 1min 54.75ec, barely a yard behind the winner, L. Leppan, was a good effort. His experiences will no doubt stand him in good stead for the future.
