W. J. Whineray In Form
Reports that the former All Black captain, W. J. Whineray, has been showing good form in early elub matches in Auckland are welcome.
The leading prospect to captain the All Blacks against South Africa, Whineray now has weight down to a trim 14s 91b although he expects to build up to 15st during the Rugby season.
Whineray not only looked the fittest player on the field when he led Grammar Old Boys to its third successive victory but also scored a fine try.
