Ambition Realised

(N.Z. Press Association) ROTORUA, May 3. Mr Angus Murcheson and his son, Russell, left Rotorua today after achieving their ambition to catch, and taste Rotorua trout. Russell, aged 11, arrived with his father on Thursday on a New Zealand holiday which was Russell’s prize for winning a fishing contest in Victoria, British Columbia. Their first quest for Rotorua trout was unsuccessful. Russell caught one while trolling off the Ngongotaha stream but it was below the minimum size limit and had to be returned to the lake. But success came on Saturday during a full day’s fishing on Lake Okataina, and again yesterday in a stream fishing trip. The Murchesons left by bus this afternoon for Wairakei. They will spend two days in the Taupo area before returning to Auckland on Thursday. They leave by air for home ea Friday.
