FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT Situation.—The deep depression south-east of New Zealand is moving away and the cold southwesterly airflow over the country is weakening. Forecast: Canterbury.—South-west winds, moderate to fresh on the coast, with occasional light showers; winds light elsewhere, with mainly fine weather; rather cold. Outlook: cool south-westerlies with partly cloudy skies. Buller and Westland.—Moderate southwesterlies; fine and cool. Outlook: mainly fine. Nelson.—Light to moderate south-west winds; fine and cool. Outlook: fine. Marlborough.—Light south-westerlies or southerlies; occasional light showers on the Kaikoura coast; elsewhere mainly fine but rather cold. Outlook: mainly fine.
