TROTTING Forward March Could Win Again At Forbury

Forward March, winner of the New Zealand Hambletonian Handicap under invitation conditions at Addington Raceway on April 17 at her most recent start, could win again in the Dunedin Handicap at Forbury Park tonight.

Forward March received a start of 12 yards from White World at Addington and will meet the Dunedin-owned and trained mare at the same difference under ordinary handicap conditions in this race.

Forward March, a member of the successful team trained at Trentham by J. S. and C S. Hunter, will be driven tonight by the Prebbleton trainer, A. M. Purdon, who handled her when she won the Hambletonian Handicap. White World will be in demand not only because of her close connexion with Dunedin, but because of her fourth in the Hambletonian Handicap.

Her Addington placing was her best effort for some time and it should be the forerunner of an early win. She came home stoutly from a fair way back and she could have been a shade unlucky. Ardleigh dead-heated for first with Tronso in a slower class at Addington on April 17. The rise in class in this race is not steep and Ardleigh should again give a good account of himself. Snow Globe has not trotted quite as solidly lately as she did earlier in the season. The Johnny Globe mare is good enough to win if she could be relied on to trot solidly. A win for her would not surprise; nor would success for Castleton’s Gift. The lastnamed would have a splendid chance if he is allowed to make his own rules in front. A win for any of the others, apart from Le Chant, would be a major upset. Le Chant failed rather dismally on the last day at Addington when making her first appearance in the top trotting company. She broke hopelessly and did not recover.

The T.A.B. double will be run on the Winter Handicap and the Flying Handicap, Junior Royal and Peerswick forming a likely combination. However, there is plenty of room for a surprise in both legs of this double. Password and Donald Dundee could provide the key to the on-course double, which will be run on the Domain Handicap and the Forbury
