Here Comes The ...Collie
ffi.Z. Press Assn. —Copyright) LONDON, April 30. An uninvited guest broke up the solemnity of the wedding of Miss Elizabeth Abel Smith and Mr Peter Wise in the fashionable St. Paul’s Church, Knightsbridge, London, yesterday, the “Daily Express” reported. The intruder, a brown collie dog, darted through the ranks of policemen, ushers, spectators, chauffeurs, and others who had just watched the Queen Mother, Princess Marina, and the bride’s mother, Lady May, wife of the Governor of Queensland, Sir Henry Abel Smith, take their seats in the church. The dog shot past the skirts of the pink wild silk wedding dress of the bride, almost tripping her, and ran up the aisle.
Miss Abel Smith threw up her hands and burst into laughter.
