£86 Stolen By Burglars
The Canterbury Frozen Meat Company’s butcher’s shop at 234 a Centaurus road was broken into on Thursday night and £6O stolen. A key found on the premises was used to open the safe, and the cash taken from it. A knife was also stolen. The sum of £26 was stolen when Rastrick Brothers, Ltd., 27 Papanui road, was broken into on Thursday night. The rear window of Wests Dry Cleaning Service, 394 Ferry road, was broken into the same night, but nothing was stolen.
A wedding group, including the bride and groom, were in a pre-war car, with horse shoe tied on the back, involved in a collision with a 1962 model car at the corner of St. Asaph and Montreal streets at 3 p.m. yesterday. Nobody was injured.
