(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) LONDON, April 30. The 8.8. C. has appointed the New Zealand tenor, Andrew Gold, chief assistant of light music. At 42, Mr Gold becomes the youngest of the top echelon in the 8.8.C.’s music division. He succeeds Mr Frank Wade, who retired earlier this year, and his announced aim is to “revitalise British light music, by promoting good, entertaining programmes, superlatively played and sung."
