Long Swim Planned
(N.Z. Press Association) NAPIER, April 30. The American professional long-distance swimmer, Miss Margaret Mary Revell, will attempt to swim 12 miles from Tangoio to Westshore, Napier on May 9. The swim, which has not been previously attempted, is to be sponsored by the Westshore Surf Life-saving Club. A spokesman for the club. Mr W. H. Gorley. said today the idea of staging the swim originated during last weekend's visit to Napier by Miss Revell and the Cook Strait swimmer, K. Hancox. Hancox swam from Cape Kidnappers to Napier, a distance of about 15 miles, two years ago, before he swam Cook Strait.
