BULLDOZERS MOVE IN
Barbara Moore Garden Dug Up
(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) CAMBERLEY (Surrev), April 27.
Bulldozers from Camberley Council today started digging up the garden of Dr. Barbara Moore, the long distance walker.
Dr. Moore has fought for six years to prevent the council putting a pipeline across her land at Eastlea Court, Camberley. At one time she threatened to kill herself if the ditch was dug across her land.
The work ceased without incident today at 5 p.m., and will resume about 8 a.m. tomorrow.
Dr. Moore was not at home in Frimley, Surrey, tonight, but her husband, the sculptor, Harry Moore, said: “I am trying to get her to sell up and move out, but she won’t listen to me. She is a very stubborn woman.’*
