Australian Shares Move Almost Into Balance
Australian shares were less easy in trading yesterday on New Zealand stock exchanges and falls were just ahead of rises. New Zealand shares were again weak, but there were two good ex-dividend gains in this list.
Among New Zealand gains Dominion and New Zealand Breweries moved up a little, Feltex N.Z. added Is to 29s 6d, Auckland Laundry rose Is 4d to 27s 6d ex-dividend and Early Brothers, also ex-dividend, advanced 4d to 13s 9d.
Mount Isa reacted to its dividend announcement with a Is 2d rise to 28s. Sharp falls were made by Bank of N.S.W. New Zealand register, National Bank New Zealand and C.S.R. New Zealand register.
