(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, April 27. The Olympic champion. Miss Betty Cuthbert, returned to New Zealand for the first time in seven years tonight—but as an after-dinner speakerMiss Cuthbert, who retired after winning the gold medal in the 400 metres at the Tokyo Olympics, flew into Auckland tonight to be a guest of the Huntly Lions Club for its inaugural sportmen's dinner tomorrow night. Miss Cuthbert said that the world 440 yards record, recently reduced to 52.65ec, “could reach 50 seconds."
