Fracas Outside Hotel

A fracas outside a Lyttelton hotel resulted in three seamen appearing before Messrs J. B. Collett and L. Shuker Justices of the Peace, in the Lyttelton magistrate’s court.

Charged with fighting in a public place, James Edward Sawden, aged 18, and Thomas Christopher Brennan, aged 26, were each fined £2.

Roland George Hill, aged 24. was fined £2 10s for obstructing the police, £5 for resisting arrest, and £5 for wilful damage to police property. He was ordered to pay £6 Is 6d restitution. AU pleaded guilty.
