Man Seriously Injured A man suffered a suspected fracture of the back and severe shock when he was sprung about 50ft off the ground by a fallen pine tree early yesterday afternoon The injured man, Mr Harold Kennedy, of Ellesmere road, Lincoln, was taken by St John ambulance to the Christchurch Hospital where he was admitted. He was on the seriously ill list last night.

It is believed that Mr Kennedy was trimming the tree blown down in Monday’s southerly storm when it sprung upright carrying him off the ground.
