Newdick Opens With 80
(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) LONDON, April 1. The Auckland professional, R. R. Newdick, had a first round of 80 in the Smart-Wes-ton gay tournament at Walton Health, Surrey, yesterday. The 36-holes event, which ends tomorrow, is the opening tournament of the 1965 British golf circuit. B. G. Huggett shared the lead with J. McDonald, on 69.
