Doctor Sues For ssm.
(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) LOS ANGELES, April 1. A Californian doctor has filed a five-million dollar defamation suit, alleging a segment of the “Dr. Kildare” television series exposed him to “hatred and contempt.” Dr. E. A. Devlin contends that a doctor in the “An Ungodly Act” identifies him. Defendants include the National Broadcasting Company, Time-Life Broadcasting, Inc.. the actors, Raymond Massey, Richard Chamberlain and Douglas Fairbanks, jun., as well as 25 others. Another plaintiff in the suit is the Oceanside Hospital. Dr. Devlin said the television doctor was a specialist in obstetrics, a lawyer and medical director of a small hospital—his identification. The surname of the character was also Devlin.
