‘Beehive’ Talks
The Government Architect (Mr F. G. F. Sheppard) is visiting London to confer with the British architect, Sir Basil Spence, on sketch plans for the proposed “beehive” addition to Parliament Buildings. Announcing this last night, the Prime Minister (Mr Holyoake) said Mr Sheppard would confer with Sir Basil Spence on some suggestions for internal and external arrangements for the building made by members of the joint Parliamentary committee on the scheme. The committee would meet to receive . the sketch plans after Mr Sheppard’s return but no date had yet been fixed. —(P.A.)
