A.N.I. LIFTS PROFIT
Better Trend In Half-Year Australian National Industries, Ltd- engineer, achieved a 25 per cent increase in sales and a similar rise in profit in the first six months, directors report. This improved trend is expected to continue during the current six months, and results for the full year should show a substantial improvement, they say. Directors say the sales gain is after adjustment following the closing down of the motor retailing and scrap processing activities.
Interim dividend is again 3 per cent, maintaining the 6 per cent rate paid for the last two years. Profit last year rose by £94,781 to £274,291, returning 10.8 per cent on capital.
Motor Bodies 1:7 Bonus
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, March 1. New Zealand Motor Bodies, Ltd., will make a bonus issue of one-for-seven from pre--1957 profits. It is proposed to increase the nominal capital of the company to £500,000. The new share issue will raise the paid up capital from £350,000 to £400,000. Books close at 5 p.m. on March 19, ex bonus issue March 23.
N.Z. Shipping Dividend
(Special Crspdt. N.Z.P.A.) LONDON, Mar. 1. A dividend of lOd a £, tax free, is to be paid by the New Zealand Shipping Company on ordinary stock for the year to September 30, 1964. This compares with 8d for the previous year. The company’s profit was £1,666,111, compared with £999,807 for 1963.
