Unaware Of Warning

(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Feb. 28. The acting Charge d’Affaires of the Soviet legation in Wellington (Mr V. B. Koshalev) said he was not aware of the publication in the Russian newspaper, “Red Star,” of a warning to New Zealand and Australia that their policy in South-east Asia “may draw them into serious military conflict.” He had received no communication about its contents, and had not been asked to make any representations to the New Zealand Government along the lines of the warning in the story. “Red Star" was an official newspaper, as was any other newspaper in the Soviet Union. It operated separately from the Foreign Office, however, said Mr Koshelev.
