During the last four years. Alliance Textiles, Ltd.’s Oamaru woollen mills have attained a New Zealand record in industrial accident prevention for a plant in the woollen and worsted manufacturing trade according to the director of the National Safety Association (Mr R. F. Aitken). In 1961, the plant had a frequency rate (number of losttime accidents a 10,000 manhours worked) of two, in 1962 the figure was 2.5, in 1963, 2.8 and in 1964 it was reduced to 1.6.
