Sterling exchange funds of the New Zealand banking system fell £3.5m to £17.2m in the week to February 17 and are at the lowest point since January 29 of last year. Unlike last week, the fall was not compensated by a rise in investments overseas which are slightly higher at £24.7m.
Deposits by Government departments rose £2.2m but advances to these departments advanced £6.lm.
Advances to marketing organisations were £2.lm lower at £34.7m.
Statutory deposits by trading banks were £3.5m lower at £Bo.Bm.
