■ (From Our Own Reporter) DUNEDIN. t Rain, which started about ■ j 5 p.m., affected the attendj ance on the first night of the ■ |lnter-Dominion Championship i' series at Forbury Park on 1 j Saturday. The rain, heavy at J times, continued until halfj way through the programme ■ wjth further showers later. ' In the circumstances, the crowd of 11,393 was considered I most satisfactory. Gate takings amounted £3651. I The track stood up well durpng the night, although it bejcame softish towards the
end of the programme, with the drivers receiving a liberal coating of mud. On-course totalisator investments amounted to £102,688 15s, including £7813 15s on the course double and £B7lB 10s on the main double. The off-course investments of £150,797 5s were a record for i the club. This figure included '£68,412 5s in doubles. The on-course double com- : bination of Jacobite and, Gram el paid £34 17s for £l.) The Tactile-Lordship combination paid £4l 19s 6d for £li iin the T.A.B. double.
