Discussion Of Remits
Remits to be presented at the inter-provincial W.D.F.F. conference in Timaru next Wednesday were discussed at the annual meeting of the Hawarden branch of the Women's Division of Federated Farmers.
Members were particularly interested in the remits concerning reasonably priced accommodation for country children who had a long distance to travel to school, and in the necessity for qualified instruction of mount-to-mouth resuscitation to all schoolchildren.
Flowers were presented to Mesdames O. G. Evans, W. R. A. Mason, and A. S. Williamson.
Officers elected were:— president, Mrs O. G. Evans: vice-presidents, Mesdames H. C. A. Sidey and L. Denton; secretary, Mrs A. S. Williamson; treasurer, Mrs W. R. A. Mason; advisory member, Mrs A. Cowie: sales table stewards, Mesdames D. S. Binning and K. M. Campbell: competition steward, Mrs W. Baldwin: committee, Mesdames O. G. Evans, H. C. A. Sidey, L. Denton. A. S. Williamson, W. R. A. Mason, A. Cowie, W. Baldwin, R. Kellock. F. Sheridan, and J. K. Forrester.
