AUCKLAND, Feb. 21
The sooner New Zealand and Australia got together and established free trade the better it would be for both countries, Sir Giles Chippindall, head of several large Australian companies, said in Auckland tonight. Sir C-iles Chippindall, who will return to Australia tomorrow after a 10-day holiday and business visit, said i was certain a free trade area would be established in time, but not without some difficulty.
He said New Zealand appeared to have everything worthwhile and he had been tremendously impressed by the resources and beauty of the country. A former director-general of the Australian Post Office, Sir Giles Chippindall is now chairman of the Australian National Airlines Commission, president of the National Old People’s Welfare Council, chairman of directors of the "Examiner” newspaper in Tasmania and a director of a radio station.
