Snell’s Record Equalled
CN.Z.P.A .•Reuter—Copyright > JOHANNESBURG. Feb. 2! The South African Amateur Athletic Union has decided the mile time set by De Villiers Lamprecht last September should be 3min 59.65ec, equal to the South African all-coiners’ record established by P. G. Snell. When Lamprecht became the first South African to break the four-minute mile his time was given as 3min 59.75ec. Th« union accepted the faster time because it was recorded by two of the three timekeepers. The third watch showed one-tenth of a second slower.
