DELAYED SAILING
(N.Z. Press Association) NAPIER, Feb. 21. A temporary reprieve has been granted to the Maltese seaman Joe Abela, but his problem is still unsolved. The ship's sailing has now been delayed until Monday, but Joe still has been unable to find a replacement so that he can stay in Napier with his wife. Joe fell in love with a Napier girl last year and married her. Now he wants to stay with her and their expected child in Napier. The captain of the Devon says Joe can stay in Napier as long as he finds an able seaman to replace him.
