Churchill Fund Contributions

The Churchill Memorial Trust Fund was increased in Christchurch yesterday by £465 to £8442. The total given at the stand in Cathedral square was £42 12s 9d. Many contributions between £1 and £5O were also received, there were two contributions of more than £5O, and Amuri Motors, Ltd, and South Island Motors, Ltd, each gave £lOO. Yesterday’s figure includes £25 3s which was received at the Waimairi County Council’s offices.

Contributions to the fund from Christchurch citizens should be sent to the Christchurch City Council and not to the secretary of the national committee (Mr H. C. McQueen) in Wellington. Mr McQueen emphasised that letters containing donations should be registered.
