Overseas Grant
(N.Z. Frc.4 Aseoesa-ion) WELLINGTON, February 4. Mr R. D. Muldoon, Parliamentary under-secretary to the Minister of Finance, has been awarded a United States Department of State 60-day leader grant to the United States, the American Embassy in Wellington announced today, the Press Association reports. Mr Muldoon will leave on February 20. While in the United States he hopes to study the operations of the Treasury Department, the Internal Revenue system. Federal and State control of expenditures, the Federal Reserve banking system. Wall Street operations, and advanced decimal business machines.
He also plans to consult with members of the House of Representatives appropriations committee, with Bureau of the Budget officials, members of the Council of Economic Advisers and with university economists specialising in the Pacific.
