OLDFIELD FAMILY
80 Descendants At Reunion About 80 descendants of Mr and Mrs Henry Oldfield are holding a reunion M Yaldhurst tomorrow. Henry Oldfield’s parents arrived on the Cressy at Lyttelton in 1850 and Henry was born shortly after their arrival. He married Sara Sheasley in 1877. Of their nine surviving children, six are still alive. There are 25 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildftn, and 20 great-great-grandchildren. This is the third reunion the family has arranged. The first was held in 1950 at Christchurch, the second in 1960, was at Geraldine. Tomorrow, the clan will take over the Yaldhurst Garden Club hall for dinner and social. On Sunday a picnic has been arranged.
