Sirdar Goes To School
(N.Z. Preet Association) AUCKLAND, Feb. 4. A request to see the school where Sir Edmund Hillary was educated was granted today to the sirdar of Sir Edmund Hillary’s fifth Himalayan expedition, Mingmatsering Kunde. Accompanied by Lady Hillary, Mingmatsering attended the morning assembly of Auckland Grammar School. The headmaster (Mr W. H. Cooper) presented him with a school representative badge. Lady Hillary and Mingmatsering also visited Sir Edmund Hillary’s Primary School, at Papakura—a school which is more like the six schools which Mingmatsering helped Sir Edmund Hillary to build tn Nepal.
