In spite of their recent accident, the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester are hoping to make their visit to Australia as planned, the Duke’s private secretary said in London yesterday. They expect to arrive in Canberra on March 13, and stay for six weeks. The Duchess is still in hospital but is making very good progress. Doctors say no decision has yet been made when she can leave. She has a broken arm and other minor injuries suffered when the Rolls Royce in which she and the Duke were returning from Sir Winston Churchill’s funeral last Saturday ran off the road and overturned (picture above).
