Shot Friend By Mistake
(N Z P A.-Reuter —Copyright) PARIS, Feb. 4. A Paris Court has given a six-months suspended prison sentence to a former navy marksman whose “William Tell” act went wrong. The crack shot, Georges Dorange, tried to shoot a saucepan off a friend’s skull, but shot him dead. He was convicted of manslaughter. The court ruled that Dorange and the victim, a cafe owner, were equally to blame for the tragedy. It awarded the victim’s widow 43,000 francs damages.
