McGREGOR, the last steam locomotive working on the Kaitangata railway. The railway was owned by the Kaitangata Coal Company, Ltd., a private concern until taken over by the Mines Department a number of years ago. McGregor is used to haul trucks of coal from the old mining town to Stirling, about five miles distant, on the main trunk line.
