MOTZ MAY PLAY
It is possible that the Canterbury and New Zealand fast bowler, R. C. Motz, will play in the Plunket Shield match against Northern Districts, beginning on Monday. The chairman of the Canterbury Cricket Association (Mr A. E. Britton) said that if the match against Northern Districts proved to be a vital one then Motz would be flown to join the team on Sunday.
He said that Motz is quite confident that he will be able to play following a fitness trial on Saturday. Motz injured his leg in the second test against Pakistan at Auckland and was able to bowl only six overs off a shortened run on the last day after being off the field for all of the second and third days.
He withdrew from the Canterbury team to play Auckland today.
